Win2K does not turn off computer on shutdown
I have a computer with an AMD 500 CPU, PC Partner MVP4 motherboard and 128MB SDRAM. I recently upgraded from Windows 98 SE to Windows 2000. Everything went OK. Only a couple of drivers (i.e. video and audio drivers) need to be re-installed.
There is however one minor problem. The newly installed Windows 2000 computer would not turn off power on shutdown. After normal shutdown, the computer displays the message "This computer is now save to turnoff power". I have to manually hold the power butter for a few seconds to power off the computer. Is this normal for Windows 2000? Can I set it up like Windows 98 SE where the computer will automatically turn off power on shut down?

Settings - Control Panel - Power Options - look for an APM tab, check the box to use APM.
