Hi Cobra,

Not sure what you have for a video card, but this sounds to be video related. I would get and install the latest video drivers if you haven't already, Install or reinstall DirectX 7.0a, and try that. If you've tried that already, or if it doesn't help, what kind of motherboard and chipset is it? If it's a VIA chipset, get the Via 4 in 1 drivers and try installing those. They fix a ton of video problems. If in doubt, completely uninstall the game and reinstall that as well. I also just noticed that you are rebooting as well. Is it random? Possible the system is overheating? Is it overclocked? This may also be a power issue. Some nvidia video cpu's couldn't get enough power thru the agp slot in some motherboards. What wattage is your power supply?

Maybe post some more detailed specs.

Hope this helps.

Dean

Well, based upon what you've got and your experience, I'd say update your chipset drivers first. Then try the reformat. I'd guess your voltage to the video card is fine since it worked in win98. Windows ME may just have a goofy chipset driver.

I had this kind of problem, when ever in window proper, screen goes black and shuts monitor down, a quick re-installation of video drivers sorted problems out! hope it helps
