Getting default vid card driver

My bro has onboard video and a vid card on his compaq presario. When he had 98 he ran the two monitors just fine, but when he upgraded to win xp he could only use the card.

Try as I might, I cannot seem to get the general-purpose vid card driver installed, as I assume that would at least provide some functionality for the time.

We have checked the compaq site, but have not found a driver for xp. I tried removing the onboard in device manager, I tried updating the driver, but could not find how to put it on the default driver.

Thanks in advance.
