Dual Boot with Linux

I have partitioned my hard drive and have Win98 on one half , how do I get Linux on the other half and then at boot up have options to choose which one to boot?

Linux version red hat 7.3 valhalla

I am very new to Linux we have just started studying this at University so I don't know a great deal at the mo.

Thanks

Install Linux.
It will install a boot loader so you can choose which OS you want to use.
It's so simple. Don't make it complicated.

There Are Two Linux Boot Loaders

First goto linuxnewbie.org and registar then click on NHF button, scroll down to Booting Your OS. Read Multiple OS Boot with LILO and then read LOADLIN and LINUX and then read Obtain VMLINUZ
for LOADLIN.
Please only then choose the bootloader you want to use. Lilo or Loadlin?
I wish someone had told me to do this before I began trying to create a dualboot os - it would have save me hours and days of frustration.
When we are new to LINUX it is a fun challenge. I won't tell you which loader I use - you decide which makes you more comfortable. Welcome to the universe of Linux its about choices!
