Angry Fire message when rebooting pc

When I restart my computer or boot from one hard drive to another I get this loud beep and then this message "No ASPI Dos manager. Install it."

Then it proceeds to run scandisk either surface or not, and then the windows will boot and I get the normal desktop screen.

How can I stop this and how do I install it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I tried using Bart's Page about ASPI at http://www.nu2.nu/aspi/ but his bootdisk proceedure was too complicated and frustrating.

Kept running into corrupted Command.com files. etc

Please help. Where can I just download an ASPI dos manager and install it?

Actually, if you go slowly and carefully through the procedure on that ASPI site of Bart's, it looks promising. . .

Did you just buy an adaptor?
What Windows do you have? (95/98/ME)
If this is a multi-boot pc, did you install your adaptor for each OS?
Did you build this pc yourself or is it a major brand?
Did the pc work fine for quite some time, and only now has trouble?
Did you make any changes just before this problem?
Do you run a System Restore type of program on this pc? (such as WinME's "System Restore", or roxio's "GoBack"?)
If you run a System File Check, do you show any corrupted files? (Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information/ and choose "System File Checker" from the "Tools" menu)

If this pc is a major brand, post it's make/model #

remove the line of ASPI in the Config.sys of your system and then your done. Aspi manager is needet for SCSI only so if you don't have any SCSI then just remove the line you can do this on the desktop -
START > RUN > MSCONFIG Select Config.SYS and there unhook the filename if there is one - to add a aspi driver add this line to your config.sys file.. you may need to modify it for your needs.
This example shows the relevant CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT commands for a
computer that has two CD-ROM drives from two different manufacturers.

The CONFIG.SYS file contains the following DEVICE commands:

device = c:\aspi\aspicd.sys /d:mscd000
device = c:\cdrom\tslcdr.sys /d:mscd001

Each command loads the device driver that came with that CD-ROM drive. The
AUTOEXEC.BAT file contains the following MSCDEX command:

c:\dos\mscdex /d:mscd000 /d:mscd001 /l:j

This command enables both device drivers. The first driver has the driver
signature MSCD000; the second has the driver signature MSCD001. The /L:J
switch specifies that the first CD-ROM drive, MSCD000, will be drive J and
the second CD-ROM drive will be drive K.
