How can I get this to quit?
Hello All,
I have just got my cable internet hooked up,and I keep getting the pop-up to connect to my dial-up.It seems to pop-up every 2-3 minutes.I know its an easy fix,but I cant find how to do it.I have attached a pic of the pop-up I am talking about.Any help will be Greatly appreciated as this thing is driving me nuts

Hi Edave,
Which OS are you using? Have you checked in the Start up folder? When you hit Ctrl Alt Del, do you see anything weird that you don't recognize? Have you tried using msconfig>Startup and seeing what's there? Have you scanned for trojans and spyware yet? Cricket

Hi Cricket,
Yes I have checked all those. Would it be my dial-up adapter? This is the pop-up that I used to connect with my dial-up ISP.I just went to att cable,and its still asking me to connect via dialup. Everything is running good via cable,its just that this pop-up is still active somewhere. Thanks. |

I forgot to mention that this only pops-up when I have Outlook Express running.If its not running no pop-up occurs.
Must be in those settings somewhere. |

Hi Cricket,
I think I got it.I just deleted my old email addy in internet accounts in outlook express.The pop-up quit,i just hope it didnt mess anything else up.I think it should be ok sonce I wont be using my old dial up email addy.Thanks. |

FYI - Whilst it's obviously too late for this if you had gone to the email account properties and clicked on the Connections Tab then there would have been a tick in the box for "Always connect to this account using" and your dial up would have been selected for the account to use.
