well, when i print from my terminal, a page comes out before everything i print that says:
HOMER it's annoying, and a waste of paper. the help section said to select a different seperater page, so i did but it's still printing out a banner. |

Don't wish to upset anybody here but can you not just delete the filename for the separator page in your printer properties.

The separtor page is controlled by the server. Need to go there to turn it off. Its on/off for ALL that use the printer.

this computer is hooked up to a netware 3.12 server. there isn't any setting there (that i can see). on the other machines (all win98se), in the capture settings of the printer properties, i can deselect the banner option, and no banner page will come out. but i don't know what to do in 2000.

The Win2K computer in front of me is hooked up to a Netware server, and on the "Netware Settings" tab in the properties of the network printers, I can select or deselect printing a banner. Is yours different?

Here is something to try....
In printer properties /General tab... Select Printing Preferences In the Setup tab... Uncheck the box for Banner Printing

i don't have a setup tab under printing preferences. all i have is layout and paper/quality. in the advanced button on the layout tab, there is nothing about a banner page.

Do you have the latest drivers installed for the printer? Where are the drivers installed?

i got the latest drivers and installed them, but then it started creating errors in explorer, which caused explorer to have to restart. i deleted the drivers, and reinstall the old ones... but now the problem is still there! i can't even print anything now.

the errors in explorer appeared to be unrepairable, so i did a clean install. i found out how to disable the seperator page in windows 2000 and xp.
the changes will take effect the next time the users log in. thanks guys, for your help. |
