formatting troubles

i have fdisked a drive in order to install win98, now i cant format (yes i am booting form the win98 cd with cdrom support) i always get a bad command or file name message

Did you make the first partition on the drive active?
What is the command you are using to format the drive, and if you're booting from the CD, you shouldn't have to type any commands in...Need more info.

Hehe..I hate when that happens..Whenever I format, I would use like Format C:/ and then it would say bad command and then I am like what?? then I do Format C: and then it works..I'm like oh yeah it's Format C: heheh cant remember all those useful dos commands to well

Just use a floppy bootdisk and have it load the CD-ROM drivers. Then when you finish the Format (A:\Format C then switch to the CD-ROM Drive (A:\ E: or whatever the CD Letter) and then type in Setup.exe It still is the simple way.
