999 Emergency - need to do UNI work Fast and I've Got Major Problems!!

Ok, a long problem so please prepare yourself,

Basically my computer was working fine, I was listening to music on my computer, thou win media player, I happened to fall asleep and when I woke up I found that the computer was displaying the 'blue screen' of death, I was late of r a lesson so I skimmed throu the writing and saw what I think said there was a problem with IRQ's or something, thinking no more of this I then switched the computer off, and legged it to my lesson. So to find that later on this evening when I switched it on that it has gone completely up Sh*t creek I’m not too happy.

Basically the computer starts up and counts the ram and detects the IDE's all peacefully, then I enter a screen saying, in a nut shell, 'we're every so sorry but I have a problem, please choose from the following options, start win xp normally, start in safe mode, start in safe mode with network, restore last know working config.' I’ve tried the load windows normally to which I reach the first windows, loading screen - a black background with the white progress bar, and then when it gets to 100% it's will quietly sit for an hour and a half before I got bored and turned it off, I then tried the, running in safe mode, to which it starts to load but get stuck after this command:

MULTI(0)DISK(0)RDISK(0)PARTITION(1)/WINDOWS/SYSTEM32/DRIVERS/AGP440.SYS

Again it will sit there very happily till the end of time, so I then tried load last know working config. And no help they’re either it just repeats the same problems, so....

I removed the hard drive and plugged it into a friends computer, saved my work using his operating system and formatted the hard drive, we installed xp again on the disk and tried booting it up on his machine, perfect! So I tried the hard drive in my machine and.... oh dear, i'm still broken!

So I’ve come to the conclusion that it must be a hardware problem, I’ve removed everything but the bare essensals from the computer, i.e. hard drive and video card, cpu, ram, so on and so forth, but still the same problem, I’ve tried a different graphics card but still the same problem, I have a power serge protector so I don’t think there was a power over load last night, and things are starting to get desperate!

Please help me if u can!

My spec,

500mhz P3
128mb + 256mb SDRAM = 384mb
TNT 64mb Graphics
Sound Blaster 5.1 digital sound
17gb hard drive
48x Cdr
Cdrw+dvd combo
and
WIN XP pro. Corporate edition.

For any more infor. Please ask!

The format and reinstall was a little drastic.

It sounds like it's having video trouble. Try a different video card.

Generally if I can't get past the first load screen, it's some kind of hardware problem - and ususally with one of the basics - ie MB, video, memory...

well i think you need to do a reinstall on your own computer will it boot to the cd at all, if you are using another computer to install the OS it might mess up because of different components.

does sound like a video promblem.

will the computer boot to the cd or it totally fails all together,
