corrupt files

hi, im gettin a prob with one HD of mine. Some of the files on it are corrupt - or thats what windows tells me when i try to open them.

is there anyway i can test the drive - and make it fix it? or will i lose everything that is said to be corrupted?

Unfortunately once a file is corrupted, you probably won't be able to retrieve it, but you should check the drive to make sure it doesn't keep happening.

Go to My Computer, right click on the drive and choose properties. Under Tools, choose the option to check your drive.

If you're starting to get corrupt files, it could be indication of a drive fixing to die. See if the scan finds some corruption....
