Icons in the taskbar
I have 2 questions:
1. I have 2 network cards in my PC. 1 for my local network and 1 is linked with my Xbox. When I turn off my Xbox, Windows will make a new tray icon saying that a network cable is unplugged. Even if I say: Always hide in the Start Menu properties, it still pops up every time I turn off my Xbox.... How can I hide this icon FOREVER ? 2. There are many old applications that aren't even on my system no more in the menu where I can select "Always Show/Hide or Hide when Inactive"... Is there any way to clear this list ?? Thanks... |

Have you tried unplugging the cable, when the icon shows up on the system tray .. go to the TASK BAR MENU > PROPERTIES > and set the disconnected icon to ALWAYS HIDE.

Try opening the control panel for the network adapter in question. Is the check box to display icon in Notification Area when connected turned on? If so, turn it off. Hopefully, if it does not think it has to display the icon while connected, it won't display the disconnected icon. Hope that helps. The Old Man |
