Hmmm. This is a case where a picture is not worth a thousand words.
Could you please describe the problem a little more. Also what are his system specs, OS, and what happened just before the problem occurred.

It sounds like your friend didn't give you much information about his system or what he has or hasn't done on it lately - - - But since he's using WinME, if he's running System Restore on that computer, he can roll back his Registry with a restore point prior to the trouble with his display. He can check in Windows Help for more info on System Restore: it's a handy feature (has some performance overhead, but on newer machines that's no problem).
If that doesn't work, try to wrestle some more info from him - such as system specs, did he change video drivers lately, did he update his DirectX lately, did he install a game lately .......etc Best of luck . . . Gary |
