Forgot Path To Enable MS Firewall

Greetings From Texas

Forgot how to activate the MS Shield. I might try Zone Alarm again after unstalling it about 6 months ago. That's a long story and I want go there. O!--just read an article I got in my E-mail from C-Net about the horror! of the columnist there using AOL Beta 8.0 ! it's a good read. If any out there want me to send the whole link ,then let me know. I include just a piece of it.-------------Donald

Nightmare on Tech Street
It started as a trivial problem--my beta copy of AOL 8.0 wasn't quite working properly--and it turned into a total system meltdown. Now, after 10 support calls to three different companies, I have my computer back, but I've lost many gigabytes of files and three full days of work.

How did I get to this sorry state? More important, how can you avoid ending up here? Therein lies a tale.

Go into Control Panel and then open your network connections, right click your network connection, then to properties and under the advanced tab you can enable the firewall.

Hi Donald,

Instead of trying Zone Alarm again, you might want to take a look at Sygate Personal Firewall or Kerio Personal Firewall.

Actually, the WinXP Internet Connection Firewall does a pretty good job of keeping your system invisible to hackers while on-line.
