need help with browser

my friend has a pc running win98se. on certain sites that he goes to, like ebay and a few others, the pics will not appear. he just gets the little box with a red x.

any ideas?

What browser is he using? Is javascript enabled?

he is using IE5. javascript is enabled.

Ok, Thanks.

Try this:

1) On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2) Click the Advanced tab.
3) Click to select the Show pictures check box.
4) Click OK.

Its actually IE 6 and it seems like its only certain sites.. one site in particular that I looked at the code for basically calls some .asp and displays a .gif/.jpg. None of it comes up.

All other pages show pictures fine.

Maybe it's just that site. Is it a professional one or a "home made" one?
