I've got ME installed as the dial-up connection on a home network. I was having trouble installing a HP combo printer/copy/scan machine (G55). I now have it uninstalled and my printer folder is empty. HOWEVER - there are 3 instances of it showing up in my "network neighborhood". How can I get rid of these "ghosts"?
Thanks,

A guess - reinstall it and unshare it, then uninstall it again.

I downloaded a patch specifically for winME from the HP site, but it didn't do the trick. I'm presently downloading the newest version of the install software. I expect install problems tho untill I can get rid of the ghosts. There is no "delete" option available. For the time being I have the computer here and installed on MY network. I changed the name and domain of the computer and the ghosts still show up in network neighborhood. They show on every computer on the network. There's got to be a way to wipe them out. |
