fqpissed ?????? Unsafe attachments ??????

Hello: I just had this happend for the second time and it deals with e-mail having attachments.

I recieved an e-mail from my sister-in-law with a Word doc. attachment that I could not open. I know it's safe, as it's a Family history document that she just up-dated.

I got the original ok, but when she did an update, I recieved the following message, "@OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail. Family History.DOC"

I am using Windows XP and Office XP 2002.

Is there a way around this little "help" item they have provided?

Thanks

Jim

You need to uncheck a box that sais "block unsafe attachments" (ie all attachments). I can't remember where it is in Outlook right now, but in Outlook Express you'll find it under options then security. It was most likely enabled after a windows update, they do that sometimes.

Send a message via AIM to mikeheitz Send a message via Yahoo to mikeheitz
Or you could have your sister-in-law rename the file to a .bak extension (or some other extension that is not on the list of possible unsafes) and send it that way. Then you just change the extension back to .doc and you're rolling.
