format HDD from WinXP pro

I built a new system this afternoon and installed XP Pro. I put in a 40 gb drive and wanted a 10 and 30 partition. I got the 10 but not the 30. Now I either have to format the whole drive and start over (ok with me) or add the 30 partition.

Unfortunately I do not know how to do either in XP.

Can someone help or point me to a site with the directions.

Right-click on "My Computer," and select Manage. You will get the Management Console, and one of the selections on the left side is "Disk Management." From there you can format and partition your HDs.
