Angry Win. XP Pro: can't read CD-RW drive!!

I've a problem with my Windows XP Pro. here... I used to have Windows 98 Second Edition, which should be obvious..... but the problem is that Win. XP Pro. doesn't seem to read any cd's that DO NOT have auto-run. Cd's that do not have auto-run, just keep on running, until my cd-rom drive goes blank.. around 1 min.. My CD-RW is the Yamaha 3200E-VK. Windows 98 SE always detected my cd's. This one seemed to not work as well... I used the upgrade option for Win. XP Pro. instead of Full Installation. Can someone help me with this? I also tried installing the drivers for my CD-RW drive a few times. Once I put a cd in the drive, it tries to detect it, if not auto-run, then it stops. Before I put the cd in, I can see my "d:\" in My Computer. After it stops, and I go to My Computer, I can't find my "d:\". Help me please!! I've provided a screenie of what the error looks like. Thank You.
