XP stupid sound problem or not?
Win XP pro on a decent machine, the problem is that not all sounds play all the time. The sounds in question are: startup/shutdown sounds, and volume applet in system tray. Now here's the stupid part, I have another user set up on this system, and all of that user's sounds play fine ALL THE TIME! Damn!
Any clues? Thanks folks! P4 1600 512 ram 60 gig hd PC Chips board (oops) ATI Radeon 7200 Soundblaster Live! Value etc etc. |

Oh one more thing I forgot, there is a sound that plays when accessing the volume applet in the system tray, but it plays out of the pc speaker, and it's a beep! No change in volume, just a generic beep, same one you should here when first booting system, and I can't disable or mute it.
