format & Re installing Windows

If i was to format my computer and reinstall win98 cause my brother got a copy of it aswell as winxp , how would i re install all my hardware if i dont have the disks for them ?

i have a rubbish printer Olivetti JP192 and a 3 com u.s robotics 56k message modem that i dont have the drivers too. Also what would happen with my Creative PC-DVD ROM ?

i really wanna format my computer soon and start a fresh but i really need to know what needs to be backed up onto floppy disk and how i would get the drivers for my hardware that needs to be reinstalled.

As much information as possible would be greatly appreciated , cause i really dont want to mess anything up BIG STYLE cause my mum would KILL me.

MOst of the drivers are pretty small and the program referred to (Link also below) will make a folder of them all to a folder on "C" so that you can just copy/paste to floppies.
I don't think I would go with XP as the drivers are differant from the 95/98/ME Operating systems and if your equipment is very old XP may not be able to find usable driver, so stick with 98.
