format & Re installing Windows
If i was to format my computer and reinstall win98 cause my brother got a copy of it aswell as winxp , how would i re install all my hardware if i dont have the disks for them ?
i have a rubbish printer Olivetti JP192 and a 3 com u.s robotics 56k message modem that i dont have the drivers too. Also what would happen with my Creative PC-DVD ROM ? i really wanna format my computer soon and start a fresh but i really need to know what needs to be backed up onto floppy disk and how i would get the drivers for my hardware that needs to be reinstalled. As much information as possible would be greatly appreciated , cause i really dont want to mess anything up BIG STYLE cause my mum would KILL me. |

MOst of the drivers are pretty small and the program referred to (Link also below) will make a folder of them all to a folder on "C" so that you can just copy/paste to floppies.
I don't think I would go with XP as the drivers are differant from the 95/98/ME Operating systems and if your equipment is very old XP may not be able to find usable driver, so stick with 98. http://www.jermar.com/wdrvbck.htm |
