Missing Disk Space
I have loaded XP onto my D: drive. My hard drive has been partiotioned into 4 parts. C: ME, D: XP, E:Programs, F:Files. My problem is my D: drive is 2.26GB but only 1.13 is used and the drive says it has no free space. I know this is probably really simple but I cant figure it out.

You need at least 5gb to install XP and have a reliable installation that won't run out of space. The pagefile and system restore reserved space is probably filling the rest of that partition up.

I just thought it was a bit strange how the missing space is the same size as the space taken up. When I delete files, the missing space decreases by the same amount as the delted files. Is it possibly anything else?

Nope. The pagefile and system restore will take up whatever space is free, no matter how much you delete.
2.26gb is just too small for a reliable XP install. |
