Can't print from MS Word!

I built a new system for a friend the other day and here’s the problem;
When he got the system home, he connected his printer but couldn’t find the HP driver CD for his 932C. He went on the net, couldn’t find the correct driver, so in a streak of genius, he downloaded the driver for a 632C and installed it. Funny thing is, he could print from Excel, the web, etc, but when he tries to print from Word, it locks the machine up. I told him over the phone to remove the 632 driver and install the correct driver. He finally found the CD and installed the driver for the 932C but the same problem exists. The problem is clearly related to having the wrong driver installed. Any easy way to un-screw this? Should I uninstall Office 2000 and re-install it.

OS is 98SE.
System is and Intel 845G board with a Cely 1.8, 128mb of ram.

Is Word the only thing that locks it up?

Delete all the printers and try reinstalling the software then.

If that fails look up on MS's Knowledge Base about dealing with printer issues like this. They have involved steps which include going into the reg removing printers and entries.

Here's the website with the 930c series printer drivers. I have the HP 932c with Win98 and this driver worked fine.

I think I found the problem;

I uninstalled Office 2000 from the problem child computer and installed it on a new XP Pro box and tried to print to my HP laser printer. Same problem. I can print from Notepad, Word Pad, Excel, from the web, Corel Draw, etc, but I can’t print from Word. I’m thinking the Office 2000 CD’s gotta be bad or have a corrupt file on it.

UNinstall all printer drivers. Then reload the correct ones. If it is a driver problem that should fix it.

Already tried that Capt. As I said, I installed Office 2000 on a different box and tried to print to its normally attached laser printer and same prob.

Yep, that was the problem: bad CD. I exchanged the CD, re-installed Office 2000 and it prints just fine from Word. Wierd.
