My computer spec is :AMD Athlon 1400, 256mb ram with XP its been running fine since i bought it which was over a year ago, but the other day when i started it up in the morning and it didn't start up, I opened it up and checked all the buttons connected to the MoBo then lastly i opened up the Power supply unit, and I saw that the fuse had blown, I had in the pc a 300watt atx psu, so i bought a 350watt psu(cuz the technician at the shop said it would work fine) after changing the psu the computer started up fine as usual but 2 days later I started it up and after the windows loading screen and before the windows logo appears, a black screen appeared before start up which gave me following options
Start in safe mode Safe mode with Networking Safe mode ith command prompt Last known settings that worked Start windows normally I chose to start windows normally but after the windows logo came up on screen, A blue screen appeared saying, that windows was shut down to protect my computer from damage, and displayed the following error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL then it gave me a load of instructions like disable caching in the bios (which I did) make sure all recently installed hardware and software is installed corectly( I have installed anything new recently, and i can't check my spftware cuz i can't get into my desktop) I did a directory check on the pc and windows reported that all files and folders were o.k. at the bottom of the blue screen it said: technical information; xxx stop 0*00000d1( a load or more number) xxx fdisk.sys - address ( aload of more numbers) xxx fdisk.sys - address (a load of more numbers) Can some one please help I can't fix it myself!! p.s. i tried starting it in all the other options like safe mode and safe mode with networking, i still end up at that blue screen . I have tried all the options given and can't get into the desktop or Dos, the directory check results were that all files and folders were fine, So whats going on YOUR HELP WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED!!! CHEERS!! pp.s I haven't got another psu to test if it'll work with that one!! |
