opening "word" woes..

Okay so this is something that did not used to happen... I go to open my microsooft word program (word 2000) and when i do I get a pop up box from norton anti virus saying that Norton antivirus was unable to scan for viruses because my definitions are not updated. it tells me to run live update to correct and then try to scan again. For one thing, i did run live update... several times actually, and for two, I am not asking norton to run when i open word. (at least i never had this problem before)
How i can fix it?
Are there some sort of settings to be found somewhere that somehoe got tweaked or what? Anyone know?

The usual way is to un-install Norton Antivirus first, and observe the problem still persist. If that does'nt work, try un-install 'Word 2000', and reinstall again. If that don't work, you may have to go for a inevitable re-installing of the OS. Basically that's what I can advise.

Best Of Luck.

Thank you very much for the response. However I actually just had to un-click the setting in norton to not have it check the office programs. I got it fixed but thanks so much for replying!!!3

I'm happy you didn't need to do the 'hard' way .
