Question Trojan removed - how to restore internet search

Just been alerted of a trojan on my system, I have deleted the file but it is one that has affected my IE5 browser as if i ever want to search using the search button on the tool bar it comes up with a crappy search thing that the trojan has put on. How can I restore it to msn?

cheers

When you click on the search button and it opens the search window there should be a "customize" button at the top of it. Click it and you can change the settings to who you want. The "Autosearch" button at the bottom of that page will give you the option to choose what engine you want to search with in the address bar. Hope that helps.

I have tried presing customize but when I do it comes up with the same search bar. I think they must have completely knackered up my settings for searching!

Any ideas where they may have hidden some file for changing this? If that is what they have done.

cheers

Try running IE repair, Add/Remove programs/select IE and click the add/remove button, then select the repair option. Hope that helps.
