Background programs
When I check my background programs running before playing games, I have the following running: Explorer, Navapw32,Newmixer, Remind 32, Rundill 32, Instant Access, Systray ... now I know what most are but not sure about Remind 32 and Instant Access..should they be running and if not how can i shut them down? Also any others that need to be shut down??

Hi Truckman36,
You really only need Explorer and Systray. You should also have the antivirus running, but you can turn it off before gaming. Instant Access: From TextBridge Pro 9.0 OCR scanner software. Available via Start -> Programs Remind 32: This one could be associated with many programs as it's a generic term for a reminder applet (for registration, calendar dates, etc...). Here's a nice page that lists many programs that run in background: Startups - Full List Cricket

Ditto.
Endtask everything apart from Explorer and Systray before gaming. |
