cold boot up problems
Hello again all.
When I first boot up my computer in the morning it doesn't completely boot up. It starts to load the icons in system tray them stops. I can't figure out which program in the tray is causing this. Sometimes It will just load the speaker icon other times it will load all but 1 item in tray. This is my office computer and runs ME as the OS. My office is about 63 degrees....is the temp too cold for the pc? After the computer is WARM it completely boots up each time I re-boot or start up new. Please help me on this, Im tired of seeing this thing "scandisk" before it starts. I have NOT loaded any new programs. I live in Pennsylvania and I believe it started doing this when the temps became colder. Please advise, God Bless, Robert |

jamesrpm, thanks for the response. I will try reseating the ram and pci cards as you suggest. I did a "defrag" today. I haven't defragged in about 9 months.
thanks again, God Bless, Robert |

Not really relating to your problem, but since you mention enviromental temps...
Do not write data to the HD during the first 5 to 10 minutes after cold boot. Give the drive time to warm up.
