Changing IRQ in 2k
I just finished checking the resources on a new build and found for some reason (which I cant figure out) windows 2k place almost every device on IRQ 11.Including Video,modem,sound.
I disabled serial port2,to free up resources,and moved the modem to a different slot,and that doubled up the resources on the sound card. I was wanting to move the IRQs of some of these Items,but it isnt in the same location as they were in 98 -unless I need to change my eyeglasses- |

That is a feature of Win2K and higher to usethe ACPI resources of the mobo to share IRQs. This is a good read: http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?cid=3116583&sid=29023
