How to uninstall spyware IExplorer 6???

Not knowingly, I dowloaded a "spyware" version of Intenet Explorer. When I click on "Help" then "about internet explorer", this is what I get:

Based on NCSA Mosaic. NCSA Mosaic(TM); was developed at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Distributed under a licensing agreement with Spyglass, Inc.

I uninstalled it once, and the restored version of IE 5.0 kept crashing. I tried going to Microsoft's site directly to download IE 6.0 but the download always resumes with the old spyware version.

Anyone know where it's stored so I can delete it entirely?

Thanks

Why do you think it's a spyware version?
Not the "Spyglass"??

"The original IE 1.0 browser code was licensed from Spyglass (a commercial arm for the NCSA Mosaic browser work), but the Microsoft team quickly made a big mark on the original codebase. "

From http://www.2112systems.com/~bloo/ind...history/ie.htm

Your quote is the same that appears in IE5.

Ok then, I appreciate everybody's input. The reason I thought it might be spyware was that half way through the installation of IE 6.0, 3rd party programs began installing....garbage like "modembooster" and a quick launch toolbar for a no name search engine.

I then installed "ad-aware" and it found 16 entries made to the registry by some bundled 3rd party software. I thought the reference to "spyglass" might have something to do with spyware and now I see everyone else has it.....I got rid of the other junk and it's case closed.

Thanks again for everybody's input
