I have a problem with the error message - This computer has performed and illegal operation. It used to pop up a lot, then just at boot up. I cleaned up some things and it went away for a while but now it pops up when I open OE or Internet Explorer. I understand there are several things that can cause this but I don't know what they are. Any suggestions on what to try? Thanks.

Rail's idea of updating the browser might do it: IE6 with Service Pack 1 has fixed a lot of odd behavior on quite a few machines. Especially if you're running Win98.
If those don't help, see if the next time the message pops up, it has a "Details" tab you can select to see more info: then post the full error message and the "details" - that will help pinpoint where the trouble might be. . . . Gary |

Yes several things that can cause this, but 99% sure that it's a software conflict. Try going into 'add/remove programs' and uninstall anything that you no longer need. Maybe even use 'msconfig' and in the startup tab uncheck any programs that you didnt want to uninstall so that they dont load when you boot your computer. They will still work so dont worry.
