XP Visual Styles
Has anyone messed around modding their desktops with visual styles, boot screens and such? I tried on my laptop recently (see attachment). I want to make it look totally hot when it starts up. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to make your computer look awesome?
Also, I am looking for icons that will fit with my current visual style (again, see attachment). Does anyone have any or know where I can get any? What about cool start up and shut down sounds? Thanks. |

Two things.
Making a computer look cool is usually a matter of taste. It is like pizza toppings. No two people in the history of the world have agreed on pizza toppings. :) Secondly, I have noticed that making a computer look awesome to other people involves making it look like something they have never seen before. Everyone knows Windows. So, I would recommend Linux. :) Personally, I use the same foreverblue (or whatever) StyleXP theme overlaid on AstonShell for MS Windows. It gets some double takes. But, not as much as some of those weird Linux desktops that, at least to me, look absolutely counter productive. Respectfully, Demosthenes |

Yes I have. However, I don't like using all themes that are widely available like that. I want something more unique. I am using a theme from that site right now, foreverblue, and I like it, but I want to personalize it more.
