win2k terminal server, cannot install some stuff

Has anyone successfully installed the adminpak.msi and the resource kit on a win2k terminal server? I have changed the server to install mode

change user /install

Which is what you are supposed to do, I can install anything else just not adminpak.msi

The error I get is "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"

and yes, im logged on as admin.

thanks

Prolly Domain Admin, most likely a domain/global policy is set that only Domain Admins can perform such installs.

Could it be that one of the other Admins have set a GPO on that machine.

Have any service packs been installed on the machine? It's possible that the adminpak is an older version and won't install.

I'm running the adminpak.msi from the SP3 service pack. Which IS currently loaded on the server.

I thought the same thing, but I did double check.
