I just used bootvis to make my system boot faster, but I am unhappy with the results. I did not like how it just brought me to my desktop and then loaded all my programs. I would rather be able to start clicking on things as soon as my desktop comes up like it did before I ran bootvis. Is there any way to undo the optimization that bootvis did to my system?? What exactly does bootvis do to "optimize" my boot time??
Thanks |

Run a standard defrag, might sort it out...bootvis arranges your stuff on your hard drive in the order that they are most used, starting with the boot files, then drivers, then programs.

I don't know what all would be involved in removing Bootvis from your XP. But you can turn it off and remove it from the Startup folder by typing bootvis -off @ the command prompt. Another good place to look for enhancing the performance of an XP box would be a place called XPTuneup (link below).
