I am trying to play cd's on my cd-rom but when I go to my cd player in windows it starts playing and counting down the song but I can't hear the music. But if I play an mp3 it plays fine and I can hear it. My cd-rom works fine but it just will not play cd's over my computer. How might this be fixed?

Hi Peebles,
Is this a new computer or a older one? Did you just install the CD-ROM drive? What operating system are you using? Do you have the CD audio cable connected from the CD-ROM drive to the soundcard? Cricket

Switch off your PC and pull the power lead from the wall.
Open your case and make sure the thin audio cable that runs from your CD-Rom to your soundcard is firmly attached to the connector on both devices. HTH |
