Hi FantasySoul,

Yeah, more info please.

Does your computer shut down at all? If it does, when you turn it on again does it do a scandisk because Windows wasn't shut down properly?

If it shuts down and you can boot straight into Windows the next time you turn it on, then your computer is fine...just shuts down too fast for the message to appear.

Hi FantasySoul,

If the machine shuts down, and the only "problem" is that the screen shot doesn't appear, is not a big thing. Heck, a lot of people try to get rid of the screen shot

Hi FantasySoul,

WinME has a quick shut-down feature and probably doesn't have that screen. If you want to see that "safe to shut down..." screen message, you'll have to roll your system back to Win98SE .

But seriously, don't worry...you're not having a problem.

be glad you don't see the "safe to shut OFF your computer"
it means your system is running well and is fairly fast and unfettered....

I have Win 98fe & have no shutdown screen & the shutdown time is about 2 seconds or less. I'm very happy & would'nt change a thing. But my start up seems to take forever since I do have a lot of programs loading.....
