Boom Need firewire driver for 98SE

ok well, i finally got my new computer running, now i need to install my 1394 card, but the installation says it requires my windows98 cd, which i don't have anymore. i DO have it on my other computer, so does anyone know the filename of the driver? so i could put it on a disk and use it on my new one, or does anyone know of a website where i could find a driver? i searched the microsoft site but really didn't find anything..

are the comps networked? are the 98 cab files on your other computer. This could be a option.

Hi scott123,

There is more to it than just copying a file: the drivers need to be installed and recognized by Windows. Without the CD (or cab files) I don't know how to do it..... Maybe someone will post a site that has the setup proceedure ??

When it asks for a location for the driver, just type in the address of wherever you have copied the CD to. On the CD, I think it would be in the "win98" folder.

Oh, wait, I think I know what you're saying now. You the drivers installed on another computer. I'm assuming that you have a PCI FireWire card. That being the case, it should have come with a driver CD. If you can't find it, go to the manufactuer's website, look for the model number of the card and download the drivers.

Win98 couldn't find drivers for my FireWire card. I had to use the manufacturer's drivers.
