XP #1 Annoyance! 256 color task tray?
I'm not sure how to get round this one but I’m hoping someone will have a solution because it's extremely annoying! If you use the "switch user" feature in XP rather than "log off" the next time you re-load your account existing icons in the tray when you originally did "switch user" are in 256 colors.
For some reason the option related to showing "Icon notification when connected" is extremely temperamental (and looks very bad with only 256 colors). No idea how to restore them back to their proper colors without logging off and logging on again, which obviously defeats the purpose. |

Does it change back if you wait long enough? I know that when XP switches to true color mode from 256 color mode (for running older software), the icons in the system tray still have their crappy 256 color versions right away. However, as the icons are updated, they eventually go back to normal.

If i force a change to the icon (like right clicking the Norton Internet Security and selecting disable, it changes the icon and goes back to real color) but the connection icon and most others never change automatically because they never have to change as such...
