what os are you using ,did you do anything before this problem, download any progs etc.you could try a system restore to an earlier date when it was working,(with windows 98)start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and click on an earlier date when it was working.
hope that helps |

Hi there jm35 and welcome to the PC Mech Forums!
![]() Can you get to the safe mode? Do this, after turning on the computer, get your finger ready over the F8 key and as soon as the message "Starting Windows 98..." appears, hit that key. A menu will appear and you can select Safe Mode from there. Once you boot to safe mode check if the same thing happens. Post back and tell us what happened.

I may be missing something, but I don't "know the rest", as you say. With PC problems, don't assume that we can "divine" what resulted from a suggestion! Let us know what happened. Did you find the source of your error messages?

BTW, when you switch to a Mac, don't stop coming, even though the bulk of us are PC enthusiasts. I know I could stand to learn a little more about Mac's.
