Mouse Port

This afternoon I was attempting to rectify
a PS-2 Mouse problem in Safe Mode of Win98 SE. I "fixed" the problem. I deleted the PORT under the impression I
was deleting the mouse and drivers. How do I get the PORT back? I solved my original problem by using a USB port.
Thank you for any assistance...

Where did you delete the port from? "Device Manager" or somewhere else?

[edit:] Welcome to PC Mech! I just noticed that this is your first post

I was in Device Manager in Safe Mode. The original problem was that Windows was not detecting a PS-2 or Serial Mouse.
I had been having this problem of non-detection some months back but thought it had been solved when I had to do a clean reinstallation of Windows on a new Hard Drive.

If it's still not being detected after a reinstallation of the Operating System, there's probably something wrong with the motherboard (worst case scenario, mind you). Best case is the O/S your're running is not compatible with the motherboard. Which version of windows are you using?

Wooo.... I just realized you posed in the win 95/88/ME forum, not the hardware forum.

That being the case, look for driver updates for your motherboard on the manufacturer's website.
