Word 97 headers
I am using Word 97 under Windows 95. I have been trying to add
headers to a document. After opening the file, I press "View" "Header and Footer", but no Header and Footer Toolbar is displayed. When I follow the same proceedure with other documents the toolbar is displayed. How can I correct this? |

I am going to assume that there is something built into the document to stop it and what ever it is can not be fixed ...so...
can you strip out the formating by saving the document into notepad and then bringing it back into new word document. Yeah I kbnow it did not FIX the problem it just worked around it, but as a quick solution maybe |

Hi MRob,
That is almost exactly what I do too if I have a similar issue. However, you might want to try just selected the entire doc, copyinging into a new doc (formatting and all) and see if you can go from there. If it works, you are closer to finishing that going via a text doc, but that is a good backstop approach IMO. HTH, David. |

Is it possible to display formating symbols along with text when viewing a document? Maybe something could be learned this way.
