Pissed Cannot browse CDrom

I have this Compaq Presario Notebook that running WinXP Home with factory setting. My problem is I cannot browse what's in my CDROM, I can install program using its autorun... but cannot browse what's inside. The CDROM is in good condition, is there anything i could tweak? How am i going to open file(s) on my cd if i cannot see it????

Did you try different CDROM's?? Some manufacturers CD's just won't let windows explorer show the files on the disk. I would think that all is functioning correctly though if you can insert a disk and it runs.

It run smoothly using autorun (when i install software), no doubt about it, the cd(s) is okay, it can be browse just fine with my desktop, but it won't work with this notebook, something is missing and i could not figure it out, two times i install back operating system using compaq recovery CDs and it still the same, i'm stuck here.
