XP won't keep wallpaper
Everytime I reboot the wallpaper I set has gone back to the default solid blue screen. What am I doing wrong?

How did you set the wallpaper? Are you using some software to change it? Try saving the image, and then right click your desktop, select properties > desktop > browse and select the image file, click OK.
What do you have in the startup tab of msconfig (hit windows key + r and type msconfig) maybe one of the programs is doing so, try disabling the programs you don't need. |

I'm either doing it by right-click and set as background on the net or saving the picture and doing the same.

What format are you saving the picture in? .jpg, .bmp, ?
Where are you saving it? Do you have Windows Blinds installed? Do you have any other Theme manager installed? How are you selecting the background? Right click the desktop, select Properties, then Desktop...browse? |

They are saved as .jpg's. I'm right clicking and set as backgound just as I have on every computer I've ever used.
