I got a PC windows 98 1st edition my son and wife uses
Well my son 7 years old did something to it when no one was in the room and the only thing that loads is the desktop picture no task bar and no icons no start button and the key board locks up plus the mouse right click don't work eather but the mouse pointer moves thats it :-( Is there a registery fix from DOS I can use or any other type of command from dos that might fix it or maybe the win.ini or system.ini file might need looking at I'm just not sure I'm hoping that I don't have to reinstall the whole thing over again because it took forever to dowload all the system and internet updates I'm sure you all know what I mean there |

Yes there is:
scanreg /restore I can't remember though if that came into play with win98 or 98se, try it though, boot to the command prompt and try it.
