What do you mean by "targeted?" Is that part of an error message? If so, post the complete message.

One common problem with M$ Word is that the defualt template gets corrupted. You can seek out and delete the file: normal.dot. It'll get rebuilt next time you open WOrd.

Do you mean the shortcut is damaged?

Or perhaps you mean that the shortcut isn't 'targeted' at the executable used to run Word?

If so, what happens if you run it directly (from windows explorer for example) by double clicking on the executable itself?

If that works, just delete the shortcut and re-create it.

HTH,

David.

Hi joyro
If you still can't find it try clicking start. . . then move the mouse to programs. Your program choices should pop out from there. Look for the program you want to open, highlight it with the mouse and open it. If that is the program you want to open, great!! success. If not. Close it and go back to start and look for it again. it will be in your programs section. Once you find it you can create a shortcut on the desk top by going back to start and finding the same program you clicked to open 'word'. Instead of left clicking, right click and windows will give you options of what you want to do. For winME(I don't know your system) it is send to desktop(create shortcut). If you click that it (windows) will put a shortcut (icon) on your desktop to the file you selected under programs. Then you can use that shortcut to open your application.
