Can I DELETE Duplicate .dll files after using System Restore??
I know System Restore is not perfect but it can be a lifesaver at times. But there's one thing I've noticed after reversing back to a Restore Point sometimes: After system restore has gone back to my preferred restore point, it will sometimes tell me that "some files have been renamed" and duplicated.
It doesn't duplicate files all the time but I'm worried about what this will do to my registry over the long haul. For instance, in my Windows/system 32 folder, there are 3 identical .dll files named "hid.dll, "hid (2) .dll" & " hid (3)(3).dll" Is it safe for me to delete these two extra .dll's?? Why does system restore duplicate them in the first place?? Am I worrying too much and should I just leave these files alone? Thanks in advance

These are Human Interface Device (HID) DLLs'. And if they are not causing problems there is no advantage to deleting the duplicates and could even cause problems if you do get rid of them. HIDs are for keyboards, mice, gamepads, and joysticks. So it is possible that each of these devices has installed their own DLLs.
