If you mean the Internet Explorer bar - I'll bet that if you minimize that window and then maximize it again, it will appear normal. My other guess is that it's something going on between a new version of DirectX, the version of IE, and the version of your video drivers. Sometimes updating the video drivers helps. Sometimes you're stuck minimizing and maximizing windows a lot.

I haven't seen any official fixes for this yet - (haven't really looked yet - but I will if I can find some time) If anyone else out there has more info: jump in and let us know.

Does it stay normal until the next time you play the games? Sounds like they are adjusting a setting & not playing nice by not putting their toys away.

You might also scan for viruses just in case.

And if you suspect it's IE itself that is awry, you can try a repair installation. Some versions will let you do this from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Information. . . and from the "Tools" menu, choose "Internet Explorer Repair Tool'.

See if any of those turn up something.
Happy Thanksgiving and best of luck

(you might also check the websites for those games and see if anyone else is experiencing these effects)

Here is a long overdue follow up

i had upgraded my OS to XP and i was getting even more text problems, but it was just the title bar this time it was random text thru out the system, but it only started doing it after i installed the drivers for the video care, 64mb Savage2k, well anyway i bought a new card G4 440 128mb DDR, and i no longer have any issues with the text, so i dont know if the card is bad or if its the drivers, i will be testing it again on a WIN 98 system that im building for my kids, when the card was originally in a Win 98 system there were no problems with it, so we will see, thanks and sorry for the long time to post a follow up

Hi again

My guess is still a video driver/DirectX version clash. So it might work great with say, version 6, but terrible with 8.1 . . . Time will tell!

Good luck with the Win98 build for the kids.
