i am trying to format,fdisk and reinstall windows 98 on a computer. i messed up the system restore thinger(i basically hit the wrong button and it didnt like that) and now the cd-rom drive doesnt work,I only get a "system options not set" error(though the BIOS looks fine), i have tried 2 different drives now and the light on them just turns red and it says NO OPERATING SYSTEM DETECTED, help my stupid ass

I would say that the real problem is the cd drive not working, the computer only has the cd drive, no (working)floppy

What kind of computer is this...a home built or a store bought name brand PC? Are you using a real Win98 installation CD or a Restore or Recovery CD that came with the computer? Cricket

its a recovery cd for a compaq, its sad i know
