Win2K RAID array setup
I'm trying to install Windows 2000 on a RAID 0 array.
The MB I have has a Promise PDC20276 RAID chip. I set the chip for RAID in the BIOS, it found my drives, I went into the quick array and made the drives a RAID 0 array, saved, restarted. Put the "OEM Win2K upgrade" CD in the CD-ROM, all looks good, it says press F6 to install 3rd party RAID or SCSI drivers, first time through I ignore that message, oops. Windows can't find any sign of a hard-drive in the PC. Reboot, this time I press F6. Says press S to specify the device or enter to continue, I press S. It say "Please insert the manufacturer supplied hardware support disk into the A: drive" Hu? I put the MB's CD in the drive which is supposed to have the drivers for the RAID chip, but that is in the CD-ROM not the floppy drive and Windows is determined to use the floppy drive. ![]() How do I get around this? TIA, Logan

I searched the promise site, no FastTrack 133 listed by promise, hmm...
I search Google, and find an article saying that Gigabyte made a BIOS for the PDC20276 so that it would support ATA 133. :confused; So I download the GB drivers, and find the drivers specifically for Win2K, put them on a floppy, get to "please insert the manufacturer supplied hardware support disk', put in the floppy, press [enter], it says cant find "txtsystemlist.oem"(or similar file name with thea .oem extension). So, I'm still stuck, do I need to add more to the floppy? TIA, Logan ***Edit*** Problem solved, sorry to bother anyone(a cheap way to earn 2 posts) I eventually learned that the "txtsetup.oem" file was in the drivers I downloaded, just GB didn't tell me how to prepare the floppy. Does the board itself have raid, or is it an add on card?
If it's the board, just go to the mobo man. website, download the drivers, usually just unzip to a floppy. |
