Smile UN-install software

Sometimes, when an installed software needs to be un-installed from Window OP (e.g., window 2000) in SETTINGS->add/remove, the system diplays a message like: Can not find uninstall.log. In that case, what people can do to undelete a program from the system's register so that it will disappear from lists of installed software?

Other times, it seems that the system was deleting files for a particular software upon requesting uninstallation. But, if you check lists of software in setting->Add/Remove Programs, that program supposedly deleted is still there. How to take it off completely?

Thanks for your prompt feedback.

Hi zzyang0516, welcome to the PC Mech forums!

The best way to uninstall it completely is to reinstall it again and it will create a new uninstall.log file. Then uninstall the program and it should remove everything.

To get rid of the program from the uninstall menu use a program like RegCleaner.

Hope that helps.

TweakUI will also remove invalid links from the add/remove list.
