Hi hollyhobby30,

Could you tell us model of PC you have (I gather it's a Compaq).

Did you have these rebooting problems when running Win98?

The rebooting could be caused by many things - but first of all make sure the PC is not too dusty inside. That will cause overheating which can lead to rebooting.

Take the cover off the PC and have a look inside. If the components are covered in lairs of dust, then go to your local PC store, buy a can of compressed air, and blast all that dust away - especially around the CPU and fans.

If it's very bad, you can always take the case outside to do it.

After you've cleaned it, leave the cover off and direct a table fan on PC while it's running. That will keep it cool.

See if the reboots still occur.

Come back and let us know how you got on.

HTH
